Paying it Forward: Never stop learning #130
Human knowledge now doubles every 12 hours. Babies are always learning but many fear not measuring up to others. Every day is an opportunity to learn something. Others will be inspired and join too.

Learning is necessary as the growth of human knowledge continuously accelerates.
When my grandfather was born in 1896, human knowledge doubled about every 100 years. As my father left active Navy duty in 1945, knowledge doubled every 25 years.
As my oldest son was born in 1982, knowledge doubled about every 13 months.
Now, for my seven Gen Alpha grandchildren, human knowledge doubles about every 12 hours.
Learning how to learn is necessary for one to have a rich fulfilled life.
Babies learn by experience. Too many of us leave that wonder of the new for a fear of not measuring up to others.
All should engage daily in activities that expand your horizons -- mental, physical, self and spiritual -- as the quest for who you can become never ends.
If you practice daily, you will be successful in growing in fulfillment as your life is enriched.
Also, others are always watching you.
Many, taking heart at your successes, will stive to reach a bit further in their own quests for fulfillment.
One such learning opportunity is offered for those over 50 by Midwestern State University’s Lifelong Learning Center.
Forty-three different classes with 32 differing presenters will cover a broad range of topics ranging from our community and the people who influenced history to how science, technology and varying businesses work. Monthly book reviews, weekly walks, art projects and field trips round out the learning opportunities.

Four field visits, requiring advance registration, include Air Tractor in Olney, Whiteside Museum of Natural History in Seymour, Wichita Falls Cypress Water Treatment Facility and a tour of the Grapevine’s history.
Costs are modest, $20 for a single session, $100 for the semester for an individual or $150 for a household. Both semesters, paid at once are $150 for an individual, or $200 for the household.
No pain, no gain. Invest in yourself. Come make new friends and learn new things.
